BENEFITS and THE PHILOSOPHY OF PILATES
Joseph Pilates developed his system in the first half of the twentieth century, the exercises were intended to strengthen the human mind and body. Pilates believed that mental health and physical health were interrelated and he wasn't wrong.
We've all bought into the no pain no gain way of thinking, ultimately spending all our free time in the gym. We need to realise although exercise is an important part of life, it should add and not take away any enjoyment of a full life. If our goal is to balance our bodies, improve circulation, reduce stress, improve endurance, look better and feel great, wouldn't it be reasonable to utilise the one method that for over ten decades has proven to achieve all these things?

RECLAIM your power
It is quite common when meeting new clients they will give you all the reasons why they cannot do something listing all the possible things that could be wrong, perhaps they feel "too stiff" "uncoordinated" "weak". There is nothing to 'be fixed'. Believing in your innate ability to achieve is the key to a change in your body. Pilates method is working on repetition and muscle memory which empowers students to workout by themselves with confidence.
whole body workout
Through precise, controlled movements you will be working the whole body rather than muscles in isolation. You'll begin to feel through lengthening and keeping lumbar pelvic stability every movement you make will be supported by the core which will feed into your daily movements and activity.
BREATHE
Reconnect to yourself through breath, increasing your ability to sustain your breath for longer to support every movement.
LESS IS MORE
We've heard it before, yet what does it mean? Match the effort to the exercise. We ideally want to make the movments efficient without strain or too much effort!!! Sounds good to me!
BODILY HOUSE CLEANING
Contrology exercises drive pure fresh blood to every muscle fibre of our bodies including important capillaries which are rarely stimulated once we reach adulthood. All the exercises are performed in a sitting or reclined position to relieve the heart from any strain. Correct breathing reduces heart strain, purifies the blood and develops the lungs. Breathing is the first act of life and our last. Our very life depends on it.
Bonus points
Yes you've heard right, Pilates will probably give you a flat stomach, toned arms, legs and butt. This is when combined with a healthy lifestyle 'what you eat' and how active you are in your day to day life. You will also walk away from each session feeling pretty good about yourself!
